Q.I am new to the construction industry, can I still register?

Yes, you are welcome to register with MC Labour Services. In order to commence work, you must have a current White Card (Construction Induction Card).

Q.How do I register for work?

You can register for work online. Your application will be reviewed by our Operations team and you will be contacted within 5-10 business days to arrange an induction.

Please note: It may take longer if we receive a higher than expected number of applications. If you have not been contacted within the application timeframe please contact the Operations team on 1300 10 12 14.

 

Q.Where is work available?

MC Labour Services partner up with some of Australia’s leading construction companies.

We can provide work within Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland and South Australia’s metro and regional areas.

Q.What is the hourly rate?

Pay rates vary depending on each job. Your job position, site you work on and the day/time you worked are some factors that will affect your pay rate.

MC Labour Services pay by a number of different awards and EBA’s. For more information contact 1300 10 12 14.

Q.Will attaining more tickets and licences improve my chances for work?

Yes, the more tickets and licences you have, the more chance we can match you up with work. Tickets/licences that can improve your chances for work are (but not limited to):

  • Traffic Control and Management
  • EWP (Elevated Work Platform)
  • First Aid
  • Forklift
Q.What type of work do you offer?

We can offer a variety of work across a broad range of industries. Some of the work we offer can include;

  • Civil and construction
  • Rail
  • Warehouse/factory work
  • Traffic management
  • Security

Our dedicated operations team will ensure that you are placed on work suited to your skills and qualifications when they become available.

Q.How consistent is the work? Is there opportunity for full-time employment?

Due to the nature of the construction industry, work may fluctuate. On commencement of your employment you will start on a casual basis. There is potential for full-time work for the candidates that are placed on long-term assignments.

Opportunities for full-time work are also based on performance, dedication and reliability. Please ensure that your availability is updated by calling 1300 10 12 14 preferably between 9am-12pm.

Q.How often should I update my availability?

We ask that you update your availability 2-3 times a week. You can do this by calling reception on 1300 10 12 14 preferably between 9am-12pm.

Q.Will I be supplied Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)?

Yes, we do provide PPE to all working employees. MC Labour Services will ensure that all PPE supplied to employees complies with the relevant Australian Standard. At MC Labour Services, safety is our number one priority.

Q.Are you open on the weekend?

All MC Labour branches are open from 9:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday.

Q.I have made a booking to come and register for work, what do I need to bring on the day?

In order for us to successfully complete your registration you will need to bring:

  • Drivers Licence
  • Competency Cards/Licences eg Forklift, Traffic, Scaffold, First Aid etc
  • White Card
  • Superannuation, long service and industry redundancy fund details (if already a member)
  • Bank Details
  • Tax File Number
  • Updated Resume

Please allow up to an hour for your induction as you will need to complete a Candidate registration form and attend an interview with the

Operations team. If you are unable to attend your induction please contact 1300 10 12 14.

Q.I can’t attend a job, what do I do?

If you are unable to attend a job you need to call the 24/7 National Operations Line and notify one of the operations staff on 1300 10 12 14 immediately to ensure we have ample time to mobilise a replacement for our client.

Q.I have completed a new ticket/licence, how do I update my file?

If you have updated/gained a new ticket and would like to add it to your file, you can email a colour copy to mc@mclabour.com.au.Please ensure that all card numbers and codes are captured and the copy is clear
